The Doorway

  1. Frozen in the doorway separating dark and light
  2. There before my wondering eyes a most intriguing sight
  3. Centaur in mid gallop, on its back was found a clock
  4. It’d stopped its steady ticking and had silenced every tock
  5. Stuck at stroke of midnight—or maybe it was noon.
  6. Never really certain whether it was sun or moon
  7. Lighting up the hallway where this human–horse had flown.
  8. Should I keep familiar or push off into unknown?
