2 out of every 3 new jobs in Alberta last month were in the public sector.

And yet Alberta still had the fourth largest unemployment rate in the country.

And yet Alberta still had the third largest unemployment rate in the country.

And that’s despite 12,000 people leaving Alberta’s labour force.

We also had the third highest unemployment rate in the country last month.

Alberta hasn’t had the highest wages in the country at any point in 2024 yet.

No new full-time workers were women.

Alberta’s net loss in full-time and part-time jobs was the largest it has seen since September 2023 and the second largest since April 2020.

And the jobs we did get were all part-time jobs.

Nearly 5,000 Alberta women working full-time in February lost their jobs last month.
