As of this week, St. Michael’s Health Centre in Lethbridge has at least 3 COVID-19 cases, according to two emails I recently obtained.

The first email was apparently sent on 30 October, and in it, the site administrator informed staff there of a new confirmed case of COVID-19. The email also said that this was their second staff member to receive a positive diagnosis.

The second email appears to have been sent on 2 November and confirmed the third staff member.

The two emails seem to indicate that all 3 staff members worked in the Post-Acute Rehab Program and that they worked in houses 1E, 1F, and 1G.

Covenant Health, the organization that operates St. Michael’s, also updated their website on 28 October to indicate that the facility has an outbreak.

All test results St. Michael’s has received for residents in those houses have come back negative. As a precautionary measure, the health centre is conducting prevalence scans every 3 days on residents in those 3 houses.

The worker most recently diagnosed had last worked on 23 October, and the second most recent last worked on 25 October. I received no information on when the first one last worked.

At least 2 of the workers appeared to have been asymptomatic while working, wore a mask, and followed all COVID-19 protocols. All three staff members are not working and are isolating at home.

You can read the two emails below.
