Confrication

  1. The striking of flint on the cold, toughened steel.
  2. The crushing of leaves under hard, booted heel.
  3. The pounding of waves on the soft, golden sand.
  4. The scraping of wind over dry, barren land.
  5. The wearing of chalk on the smooth, weathered slate.
  6. The squealing of hinge swinging rusty, old gate.
  7. The grinding of teeth on crisp, tender food.
  8. The scratching sandpaper over rough, troubled wood.
  9. The smoothing of iron on wrinkled, creased fold.
  10. The scorching of fire ’round raw, filthy gold.
