Poetry Pride

Heave. Ho.

This poem is part of my June 2022 Pride poetry series.

  1. Heave. Ho. For every catcall slung.
  2. Heave. Ho. For slurs rolled off the tongue.
  3. Heave. Ho. For every tire skid.
  4. Heave. Ho. For every bullied kid.
  5. Heave. Ho. For use of buried names.
  6. Heave. Ho. For all the guilt and shame.
  7. Heave. Ho. For friends who all said nope.
  8. Heave. Ho. For future filled with hope.
