S5 E8 – Ximena González

In the final episode of season 5 of the Alberta Worker Podcast, independent labour journalist Kim Siever interviews Ximena González, a Calgary-based freelance journalist.

In this episode, Ximena talks about growing up in Mexico, becoming an architect, working briefly as a car salesperson, converting from capitalism to socialism, immigrating to Canada to pursue graduate studies in environmental design, working a banquet server, being hired as a receptionist with a master’s degree in urban planning, moving into communications, and becoming a freelance journalist.
