Advance

This poem is part of my June 2022 Pride poetry series.

  1. Scarlet shield midst burning fields, dispersing smoke and soot.
  2. Orange sword against the hoards pursuing fast on foot.
  3. Yellow chest loudly deflects the arrows from the sky.
  4. Spear of green with splendid sheen is launched with battle cry.
  5. Helmet blue so helpful to protect the mind from harm.
  6. Violet boots are resolute to stand against the swarm.
  7. Yet swords slice through and arrows pierce between the spaces scant.
  8. Exhausted yet and bleeding still, keep trying to advance.
