ALRB certified 3 unionized workplaces in March 2026

The certificates include library workers, care workers, and energy workers.

The Alberta Labour Relations Board publishes a list of all the certificates they’ve issued for unionized workplaces in the province.

They update it every month, with the latest update being 1 April 2026.

I thought I would report on 3 certificates that the ALRB issued in March 2026.

Revera Retirement LP

The first certificate issued by the ALRB last month was for all workers employed by Revera Retirement LP at their Scenic Acres location.

The ALRB approved this certification on 2 March 2026.

These workers had actually already been unionized with this employer since at least 2014 but the certificate had reflected the employer as Cogir Real Estate since 2023.

Revera owns the facility, but has contracted Cogir to operate it since 2023.

Interestingly, these workers are currently in bargaining, as their most recent collective agreement appeared to have expired in 2024.

NAIT Academic Staff Association

On the 11th, the ALRB issued a certificate to Local 474 of the Canadian Union of Public Employees.

Local 474 filed the application on behalf of workers employed by the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology Academic Staff Association.

Arch Services Ltd.

The ALRB issued their final union certification of March on the 24th.

This certification went to workers employed by Arch Services Ltd. at their Devonshire Village facility.

The Alberta Union of Provincial Employees applied for this certification back in December.

Arch Services provides staffing services for Christenson Communities, a division of Christenson Group of Companies, which operates the division as an “asset management company” that oversees over 1,500 homes in 10 luxury retirement communities in cities and towns near Edmonton and Red Deer.

Devonshire Village, where these 90 or so workers work, is an executive retirement living complex in southwest Edmonton that includes condos, large assisted living homes, and a 125-bed long-term care centre.
