Earlier this week, the Alberta Labour Relations Board released their latest new applications report and in it was a new application for unionization.
The application was submitted on 4 November 2022 by Local 955 of the International Union of Operating Engineers. They’re applying for union certification for a group of 8 workers employed by Golden Arrow Tours.
Golden Arrow Tours is a transportation company based out of Edmonton and specialising in motor coach, student transportation, and industrial bussing services. They have locations throughout and Alberta, as well as in Vancouver, BC.
These 8 workers are bus and shuttle drivers based out of Golden Arrow’s Edson depot.
This follows another union certification application IUOE 955 filed just last week for a group of hydrovac workers in Edmonton. As well, IUOE 955 already represents Golden Arrow workers in Fort McMurray.
According to the ALRB hearing table, they’ll be hearing arguments related to the certification from IOE 955 and GFL on 21 November.
Since the ALRB doesn’t archive their new application reports on their website, here’s a copy of the most recent one.
