Lethbridge Polytechnic faculty get 12% raise

Their last contract expired a year ago.

Back in March, the Lethbridge Polytechnic Faculty Association published an update on their website regarding negotiations on a new collective agreement.

Their previous collective agreement expired in June 2024.

According to the update, the bargaining committee for the faculty had reached a tentative agreement with Lethbridge Polytechnic.

The agreement included a 12% wage increase over the life of the agreement, which is retroactive to July 2024 and expires in June 2028.

Those workers teaching in the trades and represented by LPFA would see their teaching hours reduced from 649 hours to 625 hours.

The health spending account for everyone would increase from $750 to $900.

Finally, the collective agreement would give new LPFA workers additional release time to support them in completing the instructor certification programme.

According to the May 2025 Bargaining Update, Alberta Mediation Services reports that the tentative agreement was settled about a month later, on 2 April 2025.

Non-administrative workers represented by the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees also had their last collective agreement expire in June 2024. They are still in bargaining; although back in April, AUPE said they were exploring informal mediation.
